Clothes

Children departments abound with treasures. We can find lovely items in ready-to-wear collections and also nice flat shoes. However, be careful to the designs that can be very childish, especially for the shirts and tees which collars are very close to the neck : Little Karl Marc JohnMango kidsMassimo Dutti kidsPetite BateauZara kids. Luxury brands also have children collections : Burberry, Chloé, Kenzo, Marc Jacobs, Zadig et Voltaire, and so on. To have an overview of the brands that design children collections, you can go to Printemps and Galeries Lafayettes department stores (in France) or visit Smallable or Melijoe e-stores.

A few brands offer specifically designed collections for « Petite » women. Most of them are English and American brands, more advanced than France on that subject. I’m only mentioning English brands because there are no custom fees when shipped to France : Asos Petite (sells Asos Petite brand and others English brands like Glamorous Petite, Little Mistress Petite, and so on.) – Banana Republic Petite (no e-shop shipping to France but there is one outlet on les Champs Élysées in Paris with a huge petites department) – Boohoo Petite – Dorothy Perkins PetiteMarks & Spencer PetiteMiss Selfridge PetiteNew-Look PetiteTop Shop Petite (e-shop and corner Top Shop with a petite department at les Galeries Lafayette Haussman in Paris).

As far as I know, there is only the e-store Balsamik in France that sells a petite collection.

If you don’t find what you need, you can use tailoring services. Poldine designs awesome dresses and Les Créatures collections are gorgeous.

Shoes

For shoes, as for clothes, you can move towards to our children’s favourite brands. It is really true for flat shoes or sneakers. A great example is the Adidas Stan Smith, both available at the women’s and the kids. The shoes are quite similar, the only difference is the number of pair of eyelets (one less for the kids design). And of course, it is much cheaper at the kids!

I find that it is easier and easier to find 2,5 UK/4 US shoe size. Our French franchises offer more and more this shoe size : AndréCosmoparisEramLa ScarpaMinelliSan Marina. However, stock are very low. I advice you not to wait for a too long time if you have a crush (I tell this by experience). On Internet, the European e-shops have small size shoes : AsosMonshowroomLa RedouteSarenzaZalando. They sell their own brands or brands like Anniel – Clarks – Guess – Pura Lopez, and so on. Since last year, there are also 2,5 UK/4 US size available for a few Zara designs. You can also find small sized on the following Chineses e-shops ChoiesSheInOasap.

Don’t forget the French e-stores specialized in small feet : Pretty Small Shoes – Chaussures 35Mini-MaxiPetites Souliers or luxury brands like Jimmy ChooValentino and so on. Net-A-Porter ou Mytheresa.com can give you an exhaustive overview of luxury brands.

To finish, you can customize your shoes (size and design) at Dessine moi un soulier or Shoes of Prey.

Enjoy you shopping petites, and I hope you are going to find everything you are looking for!

I am 1.5 m and 45 kg, and I just discovered the Cyrillus kids section (14A) and that place is the bees knees!! Even their size 34 is as petite friendly as J. Crew’s petite section. Their quality is comparable to J. Crew, and I found a lined 100% wool coat for 167€, comparable to $200+ in J. Crew for a lined 80% “Nello Gori” wool coat. I wonder why Cyrillus wasnt mentioned on this extensive list?
